The town is nice and compact but in my opinion you’re not seeing what Banff has to offer unless you get out of the town into the park and do some exploring. I recommend a car. Btw, where are you visiting from?

Is it recommended to visit banff in early April? - Reddit

The town of Banff and Banff National Park, in Alberta Canada. Just stayed in Canmore for 9 days - VERY happy w condo, restaurant options, driving distance to Banff and all other areas (kananaskis, Yoho, Kootenay, Jasper, etc), and far more relaxing vs the crowds in Banff and more affordable. Suggest taking Roam to Banff to avoid parking hassle, and Roam to Lake Louise/Moraine. Otherwise, hop in the car and drive and explore. Strongly suggest making the drive to Jasper on the Ice Field Pkwy. Awesome views ...

How Crowded Is The Park? : r/Banff - Reddit

Banff national park is huge. The main spots of Banff townsite and the shores of Lake Louise, as well as Peyto viewpoint etc (95% of the instagram photos) will be busy.

cheap parking help : r/Banff - Reddit

The only places that charge for parking are the towns of Banff, Canmore, and the Lake Louise Lakeshore lot. Everywhere else is free and there are free spots in both banff and canmore that you can find on the town websites. Anything in Banff National Park requires a park pass and Grassi Lakes needs a Kananaskis pass.

Staying in Banff vs. Golden : r/Banff - Reddit

The town of Banff and Banff National Park, in Alberta Canada.

Is it worth it? : r/Banff - Reddit

Banff is one of the best corners of the world and everyone is nice and it’s an amazing place to be with incredible scenery.
